The past few weeks have been amazing — More to Love has grown by hundreds, my yoga story has been shared thousands of times via here & here, and the message of body-love for all is finally taking root in our culture. While we’ve a ways to go, I’m really excited to say that loving your body no matter its size is here to stay!
But the biggest news of all: More To Love Yoga is fully funded!
Thanks to online and offline contributions, the More to Love Yoga Campaign goal was reached and this will help make expanding MTL into yoga & wellness possible. Thank you to each and all who contributed and shared, your participation and support mean so much to me.
If you'd still like to contribute, ongoing donations are being accepted via my secure site.
A very special thank you to the MTLYoga business partners Oh, How She Blooms, Back2Back Physical Therapy, M.Davidson-Schapiro Photography, and Lisa Dubreuil. Each of them are doing extraordinary work in helping people feel great about their bodies and lives, so check them out.
I also want to thank my family & friends - especially my parents, in-laws, and extended family - for their constant love and support all through my life and growth of More to Love. Another huge thank you to where I work by day, Harvard University, for allowing me to take personal time to pursue my other job.
And of course, to my husband Adam, who is by far the best partner I could ever hope for in this life. Even when it was just an idea to pursue yoga training, meaning I'd be away from home for over a month, he said instantly "Rachel, you've gotta go for it." I love you, Meows.
This weekend, I start a whole new chapter for myself and for MTL. As I return to Kripalu with an expanded mission, to learn and teach More to Love women yoga, I am excited to usher in a new direction for MTL — life beyond only learning how to love the body, but living WITH love for it.
Through yoga, events, new partnerships and offerings, I want to make More to Love a lifestyle grounded in body acceptance and the daily practice of happiness.
During my training, I wont have much time to be online but I am committed to writing a weekly blog post about all I’m experiencing through what is shaping up to be a very challenging, rewarding, self-investigative journey that will put my body and spirit to the test.
If you're not on the MTL mailing list already, please join via the form below.
Body-love is here to stay and every time YOU speak up and share your story with others, you ignite a spark that can change your life and everyone you meet. I really believe in that, because I see it unfolding.
So thank you, MTL community, I am humbled and happy.
