Day 18: Worthiness
DAY 18: WORTHINESS
During the MTLCourse, you’ve learned a lot about the underlying stories, beliefs, and thoughts you have about your body, and so many of that hinges on the connection of weight and worth. There is no denying that our society still prizes the conventional standard of beauty, but that is changing as more people are refusing to allow the judgments of their body define who they are.
A core pillar of More To Love is worth beyond weight. Worth in this sense is respect and honor to the center of your being, the part of you that transcends physical appearances, shame, guilt, and feeling invisible. Worth is acknowledging your right to exist, to be human, and to be allowed happiness, health, and safety as you venture through life.
TODAY IS A BIG DAY: YOU’LL CREATE A POWERFUL STATEMENT THAT WILL HELP PULL APART YOUR WORTH FROM YOUR WEIGHT/BODY. YOU’LL MAKE A NEW POSTER BASED ON WHAT PART OF YOUR BODY YOU CHOOSE TO SEND MORE LOVE TO AND INCORPORATE IT INTO YOUR WORTH STATEMENT.
- Example: My larger stomach does not define me; how I treat others and myself does.
- Example: Flabby arms say nothing about the love I feel for my family and friends.
- Example: My hips may be big, but they have to be to support someone as awesome as me.
You get the picture. In doing this exercise, you begin to let go of the story that your body defines you and, instead, move to the approach that your body is here along with you. The difference may seem subtle, but it’s huge. REALLY HUGE.
Appreciating your authentic worth let’s you be unapologetically who you are because you are a person with high value and love.
